An Interview with Philip Burroughs
As many of the site’s visitors know, Philip Burroughs is a dedicated philanthropist. He is constantly searching for new and exciting ways to help give back to his community and to efforts that he cares about. This site focuses on Philip’s philanthropic side. But he is also an incredibly savvy business professional. Here are a few questions and answers from Philip regarding his professional endeavors.
Q: What got you into the automotive industry?
Philip Burroughs: I’ve always personally enjoyed cars and everything about them. I’ve just been personally fascinated by America’s car culture and how deep it goes and I really enjoy working closely with the members of my community, so naturally, I wanted to combine these two passions. Managing a car dealership is a great way to get some face time with your community while also working with cars.
Q: What do you like best about real estate?
Philip Burroughs: Honestly, I most enjoy the freedom and flexibility that the industry provides. There are multiple ways to tackle any individual problem. I really enjoy that freedom. It allows for some pretty creative thinking, and I’ve always been a major proponent of that. I also, again, really enjoy working with my community to help home buyers find a great property.
Q: How do you juggle both industries?
Philip Burroughs: A lot of it comes down to time management. Being incredibly organized and keeping track of everything will certainly save you. The two industries, at their most basic level are rather similar to one another, but they are two different beasts. So, it helps to just be on top of everything, continue to learn as much as possible, stay organized, and most importantly, don’t be afraid to ask for help.
Q: What is the most important aspect of either industry?
Philip Burroughs: The customer experience. When you are working so closely with other members of the community, it is incredibly important that you leave a great impression and that their experience is of the utmost quality. Great experiences are rewarded with repeat business, respect and referrals. I always make sure to make the customer feel valued. It pays off.
Q: Any plans for the future?
Philip Burroughs: My plan for the future is to focus on my current projects and to learn as much as possible. I want to become as educated and experienced in my fields as I possibly can. I also want to continue to grow my personal network.
